Musk and Zuckerberg cage match: These two tech's most powerful billionaires are ready to get for a cage fight with each other

The Twitter boss said he was ready to “up for a cage fight” with Mark Zuckerberg, and CEO Meta is taking Musk's joke about their cage fight very seriously. The keywords "Team Musk" and "Team Zuck" are trending on all famous social platforms, while a spokesperson for Meta said Mark Zuckerberg is really looking forward to the fight.

Causes for these billionaires' potential cage fight

On social networks, there is information that Meta is about to announce Threads - the platform is considered a rival of Twitter. On June 21, Elon Musk said that if Threads launches, it will manipulate the world under Mark Zuckerberg's thumb with no other choice.

One user then joked with Musk that he should be careful because of Zuckerberg's jiu-jitsu training. Musk replied: "I’m up for a cage match if he is lol." Musk's comment was almost certainly dismissed. However, Zuckerberg appears to have taken it seriously. On June 22, CEO Meta posted a screenshot of Musk's tweet with the message on Instagram: "Send me the location".

Musk also responded with two words: "Vegas Octagon". The US media thinks that Musk's original tweet was just a joke to users. However, Zuckerberg's response makes this a real challenge.

"Do you choose Musk or Zuck?" quickly became a trending question on social networks like Twitter and Reddit.

"I will watch the match anyway, even if it costs a lot of money. I bet Zuckerberg will win. He practices martial arts, and Musk is just a big man," commented Stefan's account.

"Didn't Zuckerberg just win the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament? He's young and strong. This will be a one-sided fight," user IkHouVanWiskunde commented.

Most commenters also think that Mark Zuckerberg will win if the match takes place. "Musk is taller, so the arm span is definitely longer, but Zuckerberg did the 'Murph Challenge' which is considered very difficult to complete, and is trained in Jiu-jitsu. I choose Zuckerberg," a commenter wrote.

Some even joked that Musk had to use a robot to win. "Musk will build an AI robot with his face, then train in jutsu to challenge Zuckerberg. As for a duel, I'm afraid he will lose because he's 51 years old."

However, many people also chose Musk's team. "My money goes to someone who doesn't need a booster seat," said one Twitter user, posting a photo of Zuckerberg having to add extra cushions during a congressional hearing.

In fact, 39-year-old Zuckerberg has the upper hand as an MMA fighter and has won Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments. He said he completed the "Murph Challenge" workout in less than 40 minutes, as well as many times showing off videos on Instagram practicing martial arts, or dueling with some famous boxers. Meanwhile, Musk, 51, excels in height and weight and has said he participated in "tough street battles" while growing up in South Africa.

Business Insider even had an analysis of why Zuckerberg would win. Jiu-jitsu relies on movements such as joint locking to incapacitate the opponent. "You can imagine Zuckerberg locking Musk up with his legs wrapped around his neck. This scene will soon turn into a meme," the site commented.

Although Musk has a taller and more muscular body, it would be wrong to see this as an advantage for the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. "Jiu-jitsu is a martial art that uses the opponent's body weight against themselves, instead of relying on strength. Zuckerberg will put Musk to sleep within 60 seconds," Business Insider predicted.

Meanwhile, information so far shows that Musk does not practice any martial arts. After the challenge, Elon Musk "revealed" his strategy on Twitter: "I have this great move that I call 'The Walrus', where I just lie on top of my opponent and do nothing." Responding to one user, he also joked that the only exercise he usually does is pick up his babies and "toss them in the air".

According to the Guardian, among Musk's close friends is Lex Fridman, a black belt in Jiu-jitsu. "He could learn some defensive skills from his friend if the game goes on," the site reads. Elena Cresci, a former journalist and professional Muay Thai champion, thinks that if Musk has dodging skills, he could just lie on top of him and hope for the best." Cresci said

Regardless of who wins, the match between Twitter's boss and CEO Meta, will be one of the most exciting of all time. A Meta spokesman said Zuckerberg is keen to confront Musk head-to-head in Las Vegas. "The story speaks for itself," the person said of Zuckerberg's Instagram post asking for the location of the match. Despite the real challenge, the match between Musk and Zuckerberg is predicted to be difficult to arrange and actually take place.

Discord between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have been at odds since 2016 after Facebook asked SpaceX to launch a $200 million rocket with a mission to bring the Internet around the world.

The failed launch caused Zuckerberg to express his sadness on his personal page. In 2017, the two argued when Zuckerberg was optimistic about AI, and Musk was concerned about this technology. Elon Musk said Mark Zuckerberg's understanding of AI threat is 'limited'

A year later, Facebook was caught up in the Cambridge Analytica data breach scandal. Musk did not directly criticize the issue, but directly removed the "million-like" fan pages of SpaceX and Tesla. When WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton asked about Facebook, Musk replied, "What is Facebook?".

In 2020, Musk supported the campaign to delete Facebook social networks. Two years later, the American billionaire criticized CEO Meta and compared it to Louis XIV - the long-reigning king of France, who held great power. In contrast, Zuckerberg has rarely publicly criticized Musk and his companies since Cambridge Analytica.

So, will this battle actually happen? We can only hope.

"The most entertaining outcome is the most likely," Musk tweeted in response to one Twitter user talking about the possibility of the fight happening.

Who would win? Between Zuckerberg and Musk? However, to be honest, I think we'd all come out on top if we got to see these two billionaires beat the heck out of each other.
