This revival comes after Hulu initially picked up the series for 20 episodes in February 2022. The first ten episodes of this order were released in July, with the premiere date for the next ten episodes yet to be confirmed, but anticipated for 2024. These new seasons will mark the show's return for Seasons 13 and 14. Although Hulu has not disclosed the exact release dates for Seasons 13 and 14, fans can now look forward to a total of 30 new "Futurama" episodes coming to Hulu in the near future.
This revival on Hulu is the second time the series has been resurrected since its original debut in 1999. Following its initial four-season run on Fox, "Futurama" found a second life through reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and on DVD. Subsequently, four direct-to-video films were created, later re-edited into a fifth season that premiered on Comedy Central in 2008. The entire original cast, including John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herman, has returned to voice the characters in the new Hulu episodes. "Futurama" was created by Matt Groening and developed by Groening and David X. Cohen. The executive producers include Groening, Cohen, Ken Keeler, and Claudia Katz. 20th Television Animation is the studio behind the production.
