Sundar Pichai is an Indian-American business executive who is currently the CEO of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. He was born on July 12, 1972, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Pichai completed his education in India before moving to the United States to pursue further studies.
Pichai joined Google in 2004 and played a significant role in the development of various Google products, including the Google Chrome browser and the Chrome OS. He also led the development of other key products like Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Maps. Pichai's leadership and contributions to Google's success caught the attention of the company's top executives, and he quickly rose through the ranks.
In 2015, Google underwent a corporate restructuring and formed a new holding company called Alphabet Inc. Sundar Pichai was appointed as the CEO of Google, while Larry Page, one of the co-founders of Google, became the CEO of Alphabet Inc. Under Pichai's leadership, Google has continued to expand its product portfolio and focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and hardware.
In addition to his role as the CEO of Google, Pichai became the CEO of Alphabet Inc. in December 2019 when Larry Page stepped down from the position.
