Matra Automobiles, also known as Matra Sports, was a French automobile manufacturer that existed from 1964 to 2003. The company was a division of the Matra company, which originally started as a defense contractor before expanding into other industries, including automotive. Matra Automobiles had a diverse range of products throughout its history. They produced both road cars and racing cars, with a particular focus on motorsports. Matra achieved notable success in various racing disciplines, including Formula One, endurance racing, and rallying.

One of Matra's most significant road car ventures was the Matra Murena, a three-seater sports car produced from 1980 to 1983. The Murena featured a unique design with a central driving position and gull-wing doors. Matra Automobiles ceased production in 2003, with the Matra brand no longer actively producing vehicles. However, the legacy of Matra's accomplishments in motorsports and their unique road car offerings remains notable in automotive history.
